Moniatis

This historic village located in the Troodos mountains about 30 km from Limassol is where time honors traditions, history and faith. Renowned for its natural environment, plan your perfect trip around this historic village surrounded by untouched beauty and densely grown trees (mostly pines).

Take the time to admire the popular Waterfalls along with the "environmental lung" Mesa Potamos, the picturesque Saittas dam, and the famous Venetian double bridge - a few of the most attractive sites to visit as a tourist.

Travel time through gastronomy flavors, enhance and recognize dining experiences and taste provenance in every mountain dish!

Wine has been part of Cyprus’s history for over 4000 years.

Make Moniatis your hub and discover all wineries decorating all areas around the village.

There are remarkable Churches and Chapels in Moniatis with the central church being Panagia Odigitria. The department of antiquities has recently conserved a second church devoted to Archangelos Michaels' Chapel built in 1717 with its distinctive crucifixion.

Furthermore, you can visit Timios Prodromos, a medieval monastery dating to the end of the 15th century. The chapel of Zoodoxou Pigis (The Source of Life) and the chapel of Prophet Elia are also state-of-the-art churches and ruins worth visiting on your holiday.

With a plethora of possibilities, make the effort to explore nature, history and culture along the natural trails spotted on the various signs posted on common pathways.

Stroll along the attractive hiking routes and observe an abundance of diverse animals and plants, as well as relics of our islands’ mining history and other noteworthy landmarks.

The Folk Art Museum, founded only a few years ago contains traditional home furnishings and wood carvings used by the locals prior to the twentieth century!
